Quinnipiac welcomes an average of 250 transfer students each year. The prospect of transferring to a different university is exciting but can be a bit intimidating. Admissions counselors will work closely with you to answer any questions about programs, transferring credits, the student experience and the many resources available to you. Transfer Admission Requirements

Students may apply to transfer into many of our academic programs, with a few exceptions in the School of Health Sciences and School of Nursing, which are outlined below.

To earn your degree, you will need to meet academic requirements for graduation for your major, including completion of your last 45 credits at Quinnipiac.

Health sciences and nursing majors
Please note that GPA and departmental requirements are different for each of these highly competitive programs, and meeting minimum standards does not guarantee admission to these programs.

• The BS in Radiologic Sciences program admits transfer students only for entry in the fall semester and only if space is available.
• The traditional 4-year BS in Nursing program admits transfer students only if space is available.
• Students may not transfer into the undergraduate portion of the BS/MHS in Physician Assistant, the BS/Doctor of Physical Therapy or the BS/Master of Occupational Therapy programs. A student may complete an undergraduate degree in a major such as health science studies before applying to an appropriate graduate program. Space in Quinnipiac's graduate programs is not guaranteed and not always available.

Accelerated nursing program
Applicants who are interested in the Accelerated BS in Nursing program must already have a bachelor's degree.

Candidates for transfer admission have earned credits at a college or university after their high school graduation. We encourage you to use your application essay to summarize your experiences and why you would like to attend Quinnipiac.

For most majors, a minimum GPA of 2.5 is expected. SAT or ACT scores are required for students with less than 30 college credits who are applying for any health sciences major. They are not required if you're applying to the College of Arts and Sciences or Schools of Business, Communications or Engineering.

Quinnipiac makes every effort to transfer college credits that you have already earned. Courses completed at a regionally accredited college or university with a grade of "C" or better, which are similar to courses offered at Quinnipiac, will usually transfer.

An unofficial evaluation of credits is completed as part of the application process for admitted students and is forwarded directly to the email on the transfer application.

You may request an unofficial evaluation of credits prior to applying. Choice of major will affect how credits are utilized. Please send us your unofficial transcripts with grades by email or fax — with your name, email address, telephone number and intended major.

How to Apply

We encourage you to use your application essay to summarize your experiences and why you would like to attend Quinnipiac.

Fall applicants: We strongly recommend you apply for transfer admission for the fall semester by April 1, but we will accept applications up to the beginning of classes. The Common Application closes in mid-July, but the Quinnipiac Application is available beyond that date. The following programs have earlier deadlines and are only open for fall semester transfer:

• January 13: Deadline to apply for theAccelerated BS in Nursing program. Please use the Quinnipiac Application for this program. Applicants must already have a bachelor's degree to apply. This program only accepts applicants for the fall semester.
• March 1: Deadline to apply for transfer to BS in Nursing andBS in Radiologic Sciences programs. The radiologic sciences program consider transfersonly for the fall semester each year on a space available basis. Nursing transfers are considered on a space available basis for both fall and spring semesters.

Spring applicants: We strongly recommend you apply for transfer admission for the spring semester by November 15, but we will accept applications through December.

Applicants should request the following be sent to us:

• Transcripts from all colleges attended, whether or not grades were earned
• High school transcript with graduation date, unless an associate degree was completed
• Advanced placement (AP) transcripts and/or international baccalaureate (IB) transcripts
• International students should send official transcripts to World Education Services (WES) for certification and evaluation of credits and request that Quinnipiac University receive the results

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) opens October 1 for those applying for Fall 2022 (based on 2020 fiscal year income). Applicants should file the FAFSA by March 1 for consideration for federal and Quinnipiac financial aid.

We do not require a separate application or form for academic scholarships. We review all admitted students for scholarship qualifications and notify students about scholarships in their letters of acceptance.

If you are admitted, you'll complete the decision form on your status page to take the appropriate deposit steps.

Spring applicants: Matriculation fee and housing deposit for admitted students are due based on deadline indicated in your admission letter (usually December 15).

Fall applicants: Matriculation fee and housing deposit for admitted students are due based on the deadline indicated in your admission letter (usually May 1).

Community College Seamless Transfer

Graduates of Gateway Community College, Housatonic Community College and Norwalk Community College are able to seamlessly transfer to Quinnipiac. Agreeing to transfer to Quinnipiac provides you many benefits, including financial aid, advising, quality relationships with faculty members, and transfer and partner events at GCC, HCC and NCC.
